Can anyone make me a cover/shield for my microtech??

Hello all, I am looking for a cover or shield to be made to cover up my microtech in my engine. Right now it's totally exposed as well as all the wires and it is taking a lot of heat from the turbo as well as just not looking good... Does anyone know where to buy a cover? Or I would gladly pay to have one made for me

If you take a couple of pictures and list some dimensions, it would be easier to judge the difficulty of the job. Are you looking for a plastic/aluminum cover that will be pretty? Or just something functional to keep the heat off? (easier)

Im really just looking for something that will cover it and help protect from heat. I will take pictures and list dimensions for you tomorrow. Do you think this is something you could do? It would be about a foot long, 6 inches wide and like 5 inches in height(roughly) I'll take exact specs tomorrow. Although a pretty looking one I'd pay extra for

Yeah, I could probably make something pretty easily. Pictures and measurements will certainly help, but I could try to build in a little adjustability. I dont want to give you a quote until I price the materials. It would be very light and flexible, so I could USPS flat-rate it to you and send you pics before I send it out.

any local fab shop can handle that, you can relocate the whole thing entirely for that matter

What you really need is your turbine housing and downpipe heat-shielded.

^ and ^

They're both right. relocating your microtech and blanketing your turbo are both better plans than just shielding your microtech.

I have Blanketed the turbo already I just put them on the other day so I'm going to see how well it keeps the temps down. I'd still like to get something made to hide the microtech it's still totally exposed

We include the necessary heat shielding for the kit. We have kits in Arizona, Puerto Rico and even the Middle East (some of the hottest weather in the world) and we have not experienced any issues with the microtech getting too hot that it causes issues with engine behavior. If it had 0 heat shielding then yes but our kits come pre-wrapped. I'm thinking the issue might lie elsewhere.

I will speak to Bryan and see what can be done.

Best regards,

Chris

For what you will spend on this why not just ditch the microtec and get a cobb .

That will kill 10 birds with one stone .....

Thanks Chris, I haven't had a single problem since that incident. I have a blanket on the turbo now I put it on yesterday. I also ordered some heat shield padding to cover up the microtech with. But do u think I still need more? I plan on ordering the bhr radiator as well.

or that you feel compelled to take pot shots at anyone else with this situation still outstanding ...

and I really hate posting it like this, but sometimes we are all our worst enemy, me included.

Pot shots? No one would ever accuse me of under-engineering like this.
