RX8 Won't Start

I just took my car on a trip that was about 200 miles. I went inside to change clothes and get ready for work, I came out started the car and tried to back up up and go to work. I didn't even get out of the parking spot, the car just turned off. I was listening to the radio and that turned off as well. The key does not do anything at all, I even tried to use my spare key but it was to no avail. The cluster does not light up, the only things that seems to work correctly are the headlights. The engine is not flooded and I don't really know what to do. I searched and searched and i cannot find anything on a problem like this.

Battery is probably dead.
I know you just came from a long *** drive, but the alternator probably wasn't charging the battery due to bad connection to the battery terminal posts.
Go clean you battery posts/terminals and try it, but chances are......you might need a new battery.
Autozone or somewhere like that will check it for free(usually).
Have them load test the alternator while there, but get those terminals/posts clean.

the headlights are still working and it's not like the dash lights are dim, they don't come on at all. if the battery was dead or dying the hids would flicker when i try to turn them on. the battery terminals are clean and have a good connection. Not just that but the radio and cluster was on and working when the car turned off.

that's what i'm trying to do, i'm just looking to see if someone else has heard or seen a problem like this on these cars. i'm not a rookie with cars, i'm just new to this car so i just want to see if this is a common problem amongst rx8s.

Jump start the battery and see what happens. If it doesn't start, then you might have a flooding issue. Good luck and let us know the outcome.
