NZ Another Event?

I thought it might be time for another event in the next couple of months.
But this time, I thought someone else might like to have ago at organising it.
If anyones is keen, please feel free to give it ago or maybe let us know what your ideas are and we could put something together as a team.
Feel free to give us some comments.

Regards

Another event would be great!

I still won't have my 8 back from the panel beaters for a few more weeks. Something about a minor natural disaster in Japan holding up the suppy of a panel......

I saw this advertised today, which could be fun to go to as a group:

http://www.hyper.co.nz/drive/accesso.../11751/product

I can come in my panel beater special 1990 Nissan Bluebird. It's pure class!

Scott you are right, when it comes to wanting an event, I'm sure people are keen, but when it comes to doing some work to get the event up and going, then thats another thing.
I will see if I can drum up some enthusiasm from myself over the next few months and put something together for later in the year.

Regards

Hi Dave

Well, you tell me what type of event you would like?
I was thinking of doing a run down to Taupo for Labour weekend, but at the rate things are coming together on my car, I still don't know whether my car will be ready for then.
Labour weekend use to be the traditional weekend away for the Mazda club back in the day and Taupo was where we use to run the MREC Nationals.
Thought it might be a good time to start something again on a casual basis, which is what the Nationals use to be, a fun weekend away.
Possibly a bit late to organise that for this Labour weekend.
Once I get my car finished ( for now ) I will happily organise something.

Thought I would start organizing another event.
If you were at the RX8 mystery cruse that we had early this year, then please make a comment on whether you would be keen on something similar again, or how you would like to see it improved. eg make it longer, make it shorter, etc
I'm happy to put it together, or if someone would like to give me some ideas, or help.
The only other thing I would need to know, is when would you like to have the next event.
Probably have to be next year now, but next year is only a few weeks away, so I could organize it for January or February.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks

Rotaman

The last event was really well put together by yourself and Brett thank you again

I'm a starter for another event - Waiting on my parts from the US to fix my coil issues (Cheers to Rotaman and Brettus on that one)

Co driver is definately a must and possibly having one who has a drivers licence would have helped.

The prize from the last event is happily ticking away .....

So at this stage, it looks like February is the go for another event.
Should we go with the same type of name as the last one?
"2012 RX8 Mystery Tour" , or does someone have a better name.
Then I can start a new topic and get it going from there.
All ideas are welcome.
Thanks

Mystery tour sounds good to me. Hampton downs doesn't particularly interest me, but i'd probably tag along as a spectator.

I think the only difficult thing about Hampton Downs at that time of year would be it would probably be very busy with Racing events.
Hampton Downs might be a better place to look at when the temperature cools down a bit, and after the summer race season, say sometime around end of March-April. By then I might be able to afford to have a go on the track again.
At this stage, I was thinking of just a day event, but if enough people would like more then one day, I'm sure that could be done.
Any other ideas or name of event would be good to hear.
Any things in particular that anyone would like to do or see on the event?
Swimming for anyone?, Bungy Jump maybe, Go Cart racing, give us some ideas of what you want for your event.
Thanks

Rotaman

Day event sounds good. Being such a long hot summer lunch on a beach sounds like a go
