I just recently purchased an RX8 and was going to tint the windows. I currently live in Arizona and going to school for the next 2 years but eventually will come back to California where my permanent residence is. Tint in Arizona is front- 33% and backs any % and California is front- 70% and back i believe is any. I don't want to waste 300 to tint my windows in Arizona and come back to California and get pulled over for my front tints. Need advice it would appreciate it greatly.

 

Well i guess your safe option is to do 70 percent in the front, also not forgetting that im pretty sure the rx8 comes with factory tint, so to keep that into consideration.
However, if you have two years to enjoy your car in AZ with 33 % than what i would do is go out on a limb and do your windows yourself for probably less than 75 bucks all said and done and go 35 or whatever you can get at the parts store and ride it out. Than if you go back to CA and than rip it off or give you a fix it ticket you can just put the legal limit on it THEN. So for at least a little over two years you could have the look you want.

The shop out there wants $300 just to tint your windows?

 

Yeah I did want to do that but here in california and Arizona they charge an arm and a leg for tinting. If it would be cheaper to tint I would go that route but since it's pretty steep for tinting here I wasn't sure which route I was going to do.

 

actually california is no tint in front windows and any rear.

Your from california right? Looks like your windows are all tinted, are the cops not that strict when it comes to tint?
