Unhappy Help! Need More MPGs!!

So I just got a job delivering pizzas and it made me think about how much gas I'll be using. I'm paying almost $4.10/gallon now while only getting 15mpgs. I drive a 2007 manual RX-8 and I need to either find some way to increase my mpgs or sell my car. I love my car so selling would not be preferred. Anyone know of any parts I can add/take away from my car to get somewhere around 20 mpgs? I do all city driving btw.

The only way you could save is when the gas prices goes down, or ride your bike delivering pizza's...

I want to order 1 large supreme with extra anchovies, thanks.

OMG, theres like 5 active mpg threads going on and Im going to blow up

expect anywhere from 1mpg to 25mpg if you get higher then 25mpg on a consistent basis then start a thread and name it MIRACLE,

p.s delivering pizzas in an rx8 is terrible, plus who would tip you seeing you pulling up in a sports car?? hmm well he has money or, OMg hes crazy does he know that car burns gas like a space shuttle trying to break through our gravitational pull, here man heres a 50 for a tip and 10 for the pizza

Maybe a Nissan Leaf? You can ask the boss to leave an extension cord out in-between orders? Using an RX-8 for Pizza delivery at best will get you 15 MPG. The only way to improve ones MPG is increase the time spent cruising in 6th gear. Something you will not be doing much on a pizza route.

maybe a long distance pizza delivery with no time guarantee then you can take the highway and cruise between cities, okay I'm in Kingston On, umm I will take a large pep, mushrooms and sausage 1 garlic dipping sauce ( for my crust cause its boring ) 2 cans of pop and garlic sticks.

Maintain fresh spark plugs, coils, air filter, MAF cleaning, and tire pressure. Don't regularly drive too aggressively, but do occasionally redline it to keep the carbon down.

Other than that, not much you can do. It's not an efficient car for all city driving, and multiple cold starts make it even worse.

What's more important to you in the long run: keeping THAT job or keeping THAT car. The two are not very compatible...

I say the next "pro" who chooses to bash a noob for asking a question instead of helping them and educating them on the right way to find their answer in the first place gets to start their own forum. Everyone here was a "noob" at some point in time and made the exact same mistakes. how about treating them with some respect as well instead of just responding with, "How about you learn how to use the search button." Especially when there's a sticky about how using google to search is better than the search button. Sometimes people just dont know, are new, or just dont have the time to search for their problem. And as a point of fact... When we all went to school, did they tell you to read the book, search for the answer then take the test? Or did they educate you and still answer your questions when you had them instead of telling you to ask the book. This is everyone's place to find answers, not your local hangout spot to enforce turf rules on. Wanna be in a gang? Go find your local MS13 member and ask them what blood in blood out means. this place is a family, and in my family, if someone asked a question that had already been answered and you gave them that response, you would be the one receiving the beat down. Post count is nothing but a statistic on this site, and obviously has no bearing on etiquette. show some respect before others stop showing you any.

Man, that was a difficult read. We are not a family, let's get that straight.

We were all noobs at one point but don't be dumb enough to think that everyone just started posted threads asking questions and that the more experienced members started answering them without issue. If you don't have time to search then tough ****, you better get used to getting flamed. You are required to put forth some effort into your own RX8 education.

You started a thread topic on a forum where there were already 3 other active threads dealing with the same topic. Quit being lazy and learn to search for the answers you need. If it is obvious you took the time to search then you will not get bashed (well not as much anyway) and then you will get more helpful responses. It is pretty likely that anything you ask has been asked before.

Now STFU noob.

there has been so much hate going on lately.
I'm not gonna say I don't bash noobs, cause that would be a lie, and we all know it
I've noticed that after a while, the "noob" will eventually get the answer that was asked. After that, it's free posts until the thread gets locked down lol
You just gotta learn to not sweat these sort of things!

We were all new, yes. But, in time we learned how to make full use of this forum. I've only been here less than a year. I've never been on another forum before, and my computer skills are elementary AT BEST! But, I take criticism as a benefit to me, and I learn from it. If you can't do that, then you need to take a look at yourself. It all boils down to maturity, because the truth is, there are a lot of "kids" out there that want a fast car to show off, and we all know where that leads... So, respect the car, take the flaming and improve your knowledge and your dignity.
Besides arguing over the internet:

Well there are about 5 MPG threads on the first page in general discussion........ on any forum you go to you should always search to see if you can find your answer before making a topic.

But anyway 15MPG is pretty normal (probably above average) if you are driving around in a city delivering pizzas.

So either buy a different car or get a different job are about your only two choices.
