CEL says 2nd cylinder misfire possible when put on the computer. Drives fine. Planning on getting a tuneup at the end of this week. What I am wondering about though is how the check engine light starts flashing when I go above 4000 rpms. After I shift to a higher gear it no longer flashes. Any ideas?!

 

Miles on the car? Plugs / coils replaced ? Compression test?

Need much more info.

 

Rebuilt engine with 38k on it. Have not replaced plugs/ coils yet. Those are my first guess though. Just wanted to see if anyone else has had this kind of problem with it! Thanks!

 

lots of people have this problem if they don't keep up with maintenance
I would recommend change plugs/ coils every 20-25k miles
