AU S2 vs S1 Spring mounting points

As a generalization, will springs that fit the series 1 sit a tad higher in the series 2 due to mounting points? If so, is this both front and back ....and by how much?

From what I'm told, and this is still a hazy subject, that the rear of the S2 sits 15mm higher due to the perch. So springs for the S1 will fit fine but on the S2 the rear will not be any lower with, say, the Racing Beat springs which would lower an S1 a half inch front and rear. The only separate shocks I'm aware of that are S2 specific in the rear are the KONIs for 09-11. Fronts are the same as the S1 part #.

Interesting. Does this also imply that the rear shocks are longer than the s1 rears?

Yes. Read the link.

"Per Koni, these shocks feature a perch setting that is 15mm higher and a 10mm longer shock body"

****, sorry. in my haste I totally missed your link.

Well that explains a lot. So if you use these rears on a 09-11 (non-Bilstein Rx8), then on Racing Beat springs with an intended 0.5" drop all round, you would actually get a 0.5" on the rears...or close too it
