Engine wont start after clutch/flywheel replacement

Changed Flywheel to Racing Beat Aluminum...also replaced clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing. I have had car on jack stands for over 2 weeks....working full time job while doing this.

Everything assembled back...no problems.....went to start engine but will not start.....starter is engaging flywheel but no ignition.

I do not have the code for radio...don't know if this is causing any problems (i.e. anti theft).

Any thoughts...........please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't want to sound like an idiot...but possibly a dead/low battery?
Hope you get it fixed. I plan on changing out my flywheel and clutch soon as well...

are you sure the plunger on the back of the clutch pedal has been adjusted. I seen this with a buddy of mine. The pedal was not engaging far enough for start but once started was enough to shift gear to gear. there should be a adjustment nut on the back of the pedal

Possible... but he should have disconnected the battery since the starter was removed.
The starter is connected directly to the battery and will spark if it hits the car's body.

This is why I keep the car on jack stands once completed so I can see if the tires spin with the clutch pedal in... then I know the pedal needs adjusted (though that just gets me close... I still tweak it in once the car is on the ground).
If his car is still on jack stands and won't start, I highly doubt this is whats causing it.

He quoted "starter is engaging flywheel but no ignition" which tells me its cranking, just not starting.
Obviously... if the starter interlock switch wasn't fully depressed, the starter wouldn't even engage.

We'll have the OP clarify some of these assumptions and go from there.

Thanks for all the input.....come to find out...its flooded...it was sitting in my garage in cold weather for over 2 weeks.....weak battery to begin with.....still under warranty.....had it towed to Mazda dealership....

Funny thing is....they are having problems getting it de-flooded....said they have to order a special oil they use to build compression.......hope they are being honest!!!!

Just want my car back.......................

Has anybody heard if engine can not be deflooded??????

thats a load of crap. you could have used washer fluid, defloods in minutes. I helped a member in pa with his rx8 that flooded really bad. removed one of the black tee fittings, stretched it over to the maintenance ports and pulled through some fluid. Cranked it about 5x, and it fired up.

Update......got car back from Dealership.....dealership actually did good job...engine deflooded, cleaned, and new set of sparkplugs...running well (all under warranty)

Car drives so much better with Racing Beat flywheel and new clutch disc and pressure plate, changed tranny oil to Redline MT 90...shifts great....added steel braided clutch line (replacing factory rubber hose) great clutch response.....going to change diff oil to Redline 75W90....and eventually adding Axial Flow short shifter.

gotta to dyno now...see if any horsepower gains. So much want to track this car now with better throttle response due to light flywheel....zoom...zoom!!!!!!!!!
