Need a spare wheel for the 8. Preferably a donut or full size spacie.

 

Heya Pottsy. I'm a new RX8 owner, without a spare tyre ... just wondering if you managed to get one off these forums or did you buy one from somewhere in NZ ? Hope you don't mind me being nosey, just trying to find out how best to go about getting a spare tyre - makes me nervous (a lot) not having one at all ! Cheers

I gave up in the end mate. Got the tyre foam and a spare full size bald tyre off trademe for the long trips.

Mazda wanted around 900 bucks for the space saver in NZ.

I've sent a message to rototek, and got in touch with mag n turbo to see if they have an single wheels lying about. Keeping a lookout for a cheap tyre on Trade Me too - good call Pottsy.

It's gonna be sucky to have to put a full size wheel in the boot though ... first car I've ever had that didn't have a spare tyre

So did you end up getting another 18" wheel, or go for the space saver ? Rototek has replied saying $125 for a space saver (incl tyre) which sounds ok. I dunno how it would be having a 17" space saver on with 3 x 18" wheels ... I guess only for a short distance to get the puncture repaired anyway.

 

He must have got his a into g, I asked him a few months ago and he couldn't help.

If you do get one off him make sure the rim clears the brakes. Could be a 3 or 6 rim, they have the same pattern.
