I've got a random question - i'm about to do my 60K service and replace:

-NGK plugs
-Magnacore wires 8.5mm (i really wanted the 10's hehe)
-Mishimoto silicone radiator hoses
-Mazda coils (i wanted BHR's kit but dont have $400 right now...)
-Red line fluids change
-Radiator flush

I was trying to find information about spark plugs; is there such a thing as a break in period for new plugs? I've read nothing to indicate any such break in period, but was curious about it. I'll be sure to take an *** load of photos and setup a DIY for all this stuff.

 

BTW, i bought everything except the plugs and hoses from 5xracing.com, definitely recommend them, they have good prices and some of the cheapest pricing ive seen for genuine mazda coils

 

There is no break in period for spark plugs

 

The cabin air filters (behind glove box) were really nasty with leaves and dirt in my 04 at 60k. Don't think the PO ever changed them.

Cleaning the whole inside air exchange system lowered cabin AC temp about 10 degrees. Also made the car smell better.

Cleaning carbon out of the intake (dealer did it) while doing a fuel system cleaning (while in there to replace the air valve solenoid) really helped the car's performance even more than the "tuneup" did.

From the threads I've read this intake carbon fouling can really bite you in the fanny left unchecked. Especially in a daily driver. I've got a new engine with 5k now but they didn't do anything to anything else on the engine. Just put it all back together. They didn't even change the plugs!! Wasn't covered under the warrantee I guess and were under 36k but still looked like poo.
