2004 RX-8 w/ Sport Pkg (HID headlights, traction control, stability control and fog lights) - the ultimate "drivers" package
Brilliant Black with cloth interior
Covered under Mazda engine extended warranty – 8yrs or 100K miles
Purchased by me Feb 2007 w/ 29,700 miles
As of today 52,230 miles (avg 50 miles/week)
New engine at 31,000 miles
Transmission rebuild at 33,000 miles (had 2nd gear grind from the day I bought it)

Current modifications (not sure if they are all coming with the car)
- Mazdaspeed shocks and springs (have stock parts) - $700
- Progress Technology adjustable sway bars (have stock parts) - $265
- Greddy front and rear strut bars (have stock front) $200
- Mazdaspeed v1 exhaust (will come on car) - $785
- Odula intake snorkel (have stock parts) - $200
- K&N filter in stock intake box - $40
- Mazsport fan cooling controller - $90
- Optima Red Top battery (replaced 2008)
- Bridgestone RE-01R 245/40 R18 tires (lots of life left)
- Mazdaspeed/Motorsports shifter bushing (have stock part) -$35
- Rotary Performance hi-flow cat (have stock part w/only 1000 miles) -$395
- Hawk HP+ brake pads fr/rear (have stock parts, quieter but not as good) $200
- Mazda accessory chrome strakes and fuel door $150
- Mazda spare tire (was an option) no mounting kit $100
- 17” Kosei winter wheels w/ Pirelli snow tires $600 (lots of life left)
All recalls and TSBs performed
Oil changed with Havoline non-synthetic 5W-30 and OEM Mazda oil filter
Always use Shell 93 octane

Niggles:
No battery cover – not functional just cosmetic. Didn’t come with the car when I bought it.
No drivers side factory floormat – Didn’t come with the car when I bought it. Have a rubber replacement and 4 winter mats
Usual few parking lot minor dings
Bigger ding in drivers front fender (will probably take care of before. Mazda Naperville quoted $75 for PDR)
Rear bumper cover bumped and has a bulge and dent (may replace it before, it’s $400)
Small bit of chrome on shift **** rubbed off - like that when I bought it.

No trades and no joy riders please. I'm not in a hurry to sell it so low ballers can look elsewhere.

I'm looking for an RX-8, and yours might fit the bill for me. Your price is good, but what if any of the modifications/extras will come with the car for this price? I'm definitely interested in the 17" wheels and snow tires, but I would rather have the stock suspension, intake, etc, and no extra strut bars since I would like to autocross it in a stock class.

Let me know what you think. I live in Champaign, IL, so it would not be a big deal for me to come and get the car in person. I own a '90 nonturbo RX-7, and I've driven a 6 speed RX-8 before. So I'm not that concerned with a test drive.

Sorry there should have been a line that for the asking price all parts come with the car - including stock if I have them. Which I do for the intake (stock snorkel), shocks, front tower bar, springs and swaybars. Also for the price the snow wheels/tires will come with it. I know stock class of AutoX you can change the shocks and front sway. The rest you can sell! Let me know if you have any other questions.

That's an awesome deal. I'm trying to sell my Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS at the moment. I have one interested buyer, so I'll have to get back to you.

I'm out of town this week, but there is a good chance I can offer you your asking price during the first two weeks of December. Please PM me if you sell the car before I get back to you. Thanks!

Also, have you had the ding in the fender repaired yet (or the rear bumper replaced)?

Have someone interested in the factory or aftermarket cat. Preference if you were to buy the car?

After looking at your mod list (look like good choices), I'm thinking that putting everything back to stock might be disappointing. So I would prefer the aftermarket cat. (I have the RP high-flow cat on my RX-7, and I know it is a quality part and gave my car a performance gain.)

No. They are so inconsequential and a part of whey I priced the car off of KBB, Edmunds and NADA's "good" vs "great".

Okay, I have buyers lined up for my two cars that will be sold this weekend. I have a few black RX-8s I'm interested in, but yours is at the top of my list. Is it possible for me to see it in person soon? (I sent you a PM about it.) Assuming everything goes as planned, I'll be ready to make an offer next week.

You're welcome! The car has a happy new home in my garage where my RX-7 used to be. The guy who bought my RX-7 (FC) got it Tuesday night a few hours after I got home. I created a new user account named "fc2se" to note my transition from the RX-7 to the RX-8. Here's hoping engine #2 outlasts engine #1!
