Smile Just Had The 8 Tinted

I just had my 8 tinted yesterday. I was torn about doing it because of the legallity issue here in Ohio. The "legal" limit here is 50%. Now, all auto glass has a certain degree of shade to it from the factory. So even if you lay a 50% film on the windows, it bumps you over the legal limit.

I decided to do the 50% Llumar Platinum Plus film. It's not too dark, but the "reflective" property of this film is very attractive. I work for an auto trim shop and I sell tint everyday, and when people go to dark on their cars I thinks it "cheapens" the look. The film I chose keeps me "close" to the legal limit in Ohio and it's very tastefull. I recommend it for anyone.

I'll post pics soon. I'm waitng for good weather.

is there any disadvantage to getting your windows tinted when it is cold out? I was wondering if I should get it done now (want huper optik 50) or if I should wait for a nice spring day. Also, how do you ensure that your windows are completely clean before the install? do they clean them? or do you have to be paranoid and wash them 20 times right before you take it in?

Any half-way decent window tinter will clean the hell out of your windows before doing anything else. The only downside to having tint done in the winter is that it takes longer for excess moisture to evaporate out from in between the glass and the film. Instead of not rolling the your windows down for 3-4 days in the summer you'll have to wait 7-10 days to roll them down.

It's no big deal, you can have it done any time of year.

my friend got pulled over on bethel rd in columbus for having too much tint on his S4. Fine was about $100. It sucks cause now he has to pay to get it removed.

Yeah, they're pretty **** up here in Akron too. Not so much "in" Akron, but in the surrounding municipalities. I'm trying to respect the law by keeping it at least close to legal.

Does anyone know how to find out what states allow tinting and to what percentage?

What credibility does this site have? Looks like a cheap personal homepage.

In fact, after checking with my states Attorney General page, they state that Pa is allowed to have up to 30%. http://www.attorneygeneral.gov/press...vis/July02.cfm

This link you gave me says No/No/No......

I'm not sure how you found this, but I can asure you that it is not the most reputable site
