I searched in the forums for this info prior to post, so if I missed it I apologize in advance.

I am looking for the ordering information on the OEM servo motor that raises and lowers the navigation hood. If anyone has it, could you please provide the following:

Manufacturer
U.S. Distributor
Part number
Price (if and when you bought it)

If it is found on Japanparts dot com, how was the experience in placing and receiving orders from them? I looked online last night for the servo motor but did not find it.

It's not a servo. It's a DC motor coupled with a circular potentiometer and some small external gearing.

I don't think anyone has that particular part. If you have the gears and the potentiometer, then I think any small DC motor might do the trick.

I lost that part too and I had to replace it with a real servo and some minor work. I had to add a servo controller circuit too. It's not an ideal solution though, as the movement of the hood is very rough and not as smooth and precise as one would like, because I'm not using the external gears (that would've required some nice precision work). I just connected the servo directly to the hood and that's it.
