loud bang sound?

i have had my 9 for about 10 days now. its a 05 gt mt6 with 16k miles on it. i was driving today and was going up a turn on a hill. i was behind a suv so we were going slow. on the brakes a little i think. when i here a BANG sound. it sounded like something smashed my roof. i dont know where the sound came from as i think it just echoed throughout the entire cabin. i got out and the car was fine on the outside so i dont think anything hit me. i was not touching the clutch or shifter. i have no idea what the hell could cause this. it was raining out and a few times a little before this i was having some sideways fun with the tcs and dcs on. just hitting it in first from a stop pulling out from a stop sign or what not. the car drives the same. everything works. any ideas?
