I have lost my factory wheel lock key after switching out my wheels last week.
I went to the dealer today and the jackass at the parts department told me he has no way of finding out which key I need to remove the locks. His advice was to go get my studs removed that have the wheel locks.

This can't be my only solution to my problem.

Please help, I don't want to damage my car.

 

That's BS. At the dealership they have a set of wheel lock keys. One for each variation (If your wheel locks are from mazda) They can try each one until one fits..

Edit: I got my wheel locks out of a wrecked RX8 and didn't have the key. I took one of the locks to the dealer and they pulled out a case that had many variations of factory keys. They tried them until one fit and I ordered that one...

 

That's what I figured but this *** said they didn't have the keys. I have a really shitty Mazda dealer. They are useless. I guess I could call another dealership.

 

Or just casually walk into the service bay and ask a tech.
Or ask for the manager.

 

Easy i went to my friend's shop told him I lost my lock and I need to replace my wheels... gave him 20$ he got his air tool put in a deep socket and got the locks off with no scratch.

Then I went to buy aftermarket lugs lol

 

Most tire shops that are worth a damn will be able to remove them and replace them with standard lugs. If you were closer I'd take them off for you as I have the special socket thing to get them off after having a similar experience to yours.

After they are off, keep them off. No point in having wheel locks anymore anyways, the tool to remove them isn't expensive and if a theif wants your wheels they are going to get them.

 

I just stopped by my local dealership and they were glad to help. They lent me the box of keys and a torque wrench. I first asked the parts department and he said that he could not lend it to me, then spoke to the service manager and problem solved.

 

Well right on, looks like I have a few options. I'm going to give Mazda another shot and see what the head dumbass will say. As far as wheel shops like Firestone or Discount tire should be able to get it off right? I don't have a lot of options down here.

I just don't want anyone jacking up my new rims.
