Question Engine Light

On my way home on Friday, I was in driving around in fith and then I lowerd speed and droped it to forth and then a little lower and droped it again into third. Then I wot it in third and the car bogged badly and it slowed down. I switch to fourth and it had a little bogg. At this time the engine light flashed a couple of times and then it stayed on. I got off the highway and stoped at a light and rev it and it sounded fine. But the engine light was still on. I turned at the stop light and I steped on it and it bogged a little again. Pulled over and let it sit for a sec. I gave it a rev or to and it sounded fine again. I pulled out of the parking lot and floored it and had no problems. I did that a few more times and I had no further problem but the engine light is still on. Also after this happed, the first issue that came to my mind it the cat. I have had the car for a year and about 8 months and in that time I had the plugs and coils replaced. The cat was replace and last year the engine was replaced. It is an 04 6speed. The first time that I had to replace the cat and coils and plugs(All at the same time) the car wouldnt go any where. It was like it had now power. It does not feel like that now. So do guys think that sense the engine light is on could it be the cat or the coil/plugs. Like I said there seems to be no issue right now, just the light.-Thanks.

Anything is possible but a short trip to an autoparts store to get the code read will narrow it down rather quickly.

I went Saturday to an auto parts store and had the code looke up. It was P0300 and P0301. It was for a detection of a misfire(P0300) and a misfire in cylinder 1(P0301). I cleared it and have not had a problem yet. The car has 57*** miles on it.

Same as it ever was........................coils, plugs, wires. All these probably need attention.
