I'm curious about the spoiler that came with my RX-8. I like it very much but noticed it was different than the rest on the lot and different than any of the other pics I have looked at. The salesman said when he looked into it, he was told that my RX-8 was one of the early imports and that Mazda probably changed the OEM spoiler soon after and that this is common practice of manufacturers.

Does anyone else have this style on their RX-8?

 

I kind of like it, need a view with the whole car to make a better decision though.

The only "stock" spoiler I have seen around this site is this one!

I haven't seen that spoiler on other cars, does it arc less than the original? I don't like the side view at all, if I had to pick between the two, I would take the original.

It doesn't appear to arc more than the others I have seen. I have included a photo of mine at top and the ones I have seen at the bottom.

I like the turned up lip but the spoiler is more bulky than the others and is wider from front to back as well as a bit wider from side to side, too.

How do you find out the original date of manufacture and date of import on a vehicle?
