New Plugs - old problem? Hot start

04 - 45K miles.

In 05 I had the dreaded hot start stall. Mazda put a new batt and different plugs in it. SOlved teh problem. Now I am getting ready to change the plugs, wires, coils.

Can I use the standard NGK plug set or do I need the "hot start" leading plugs (which are $42 each)?

http://www.mazdatrix.com/8ignition.htm

Thanks gents.

Yes the stock NGK's are the best for stock engines. So are you having hot start problems again too? Do you have the new level starter? Have you tried to decarbon your engine?

Lucas................Use Seafoam or the Mazda cleaner.........if it needs it.
Do a search on "SeaFoam" and threads will come up.

This will give you some insight!

And here is the Mazda cleaner.

If you are having hard starts and you are an 04, then you really need to see if you have the upgraded starter.....assuming battery has been all checked out and is good.

See the threads at the bottom of this page now for other info relating to hard starts, if that's what you have.
