I recently received my Progress Tech adjustable swaybars with Energy Suspension swaybar bushings, but when I went to install them last night, the brackets were to big to fit for the mounting point on the car. Could someone please list the exact links for the front and rear bushings so I can order the correct ones? I would like to either order them today, or even head over to Napa Autoparts, or Auto Zone and pick them up, as long as I know the right specs. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks.

 

When centered properly on the mounting studs (very important) the ES bracket will overlap on the top side over the bolt bead for the ABS cable bracket. Just tighten the mounting nuts down and it will bend the bracket down over the other bolt head. Otherwise you have to cut that bit off with a saw. I've done it both ways. This only affects the front mounts and it occurs because this is a univesal mount part designed to work on any number of vehicles.

Or are you saying it won't mount properly over the studs or ... ?

 

The studs. The brackets are to big to fit. If you could list the part numbers for front and rear in polyurethene, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

 

front is 1.25"/31.5mm

greasable ES part no. is 9.5165

non-greasable ES part no. is 9.5113


The 1.25"/31.5mm bushing/bracket set that won't fit is ES part no. 9.5172



The rear PT bar is 19mm, but I'm not sure what the correct ES part is, or if they even make one for the rear.

So what did you use in the rear if Energy doesn't make one? Stock bushings don't fit at all.

Yeah I tried that, but am not 100% sure. I have only done so for the rear, and don't want to have to take off the front, just to measure. When I measured between the bolts, is that the distance between the center of each hole?

Pleasanton, and there is actually a Napa Auto Parts right here, and an Autozone 20 min away. I go to college in San Luis Obispo at Cal Poly, but am home for the break. That's why I want to finally get this done now that I have time.

 

So what do you use for the rear on your PT sway bars? According to the chart, part # 9.5156 is for the rear, but that is what I previously ordered, and it's way to big.

 

I will actually be verifying the fitment you guys are discussing as I have a pair of PT sways in-hand and am thinking of offering the proper ES greaseable bushing upgrade as part of a total package. I hope to have a little extra time to do this tonight. If I get it sorted out I will post up what I find, especially regarding the rear bracket size.

Wow. I feel really dumb. I didn't realize that Progress actually includes their own bushings. I thought the box was empty, but in fact it contained a small partition where the bushings were. I am still going to purchase the correct bushings for the front from Energy, but if anyone determines the correct ones for the rear that are greasable, let me know. Thanks.

 

I listed the correct ES parts for the front. I've used half a dozen sets of the ES over twice as many 1.25" diameter bars. I was figuring you had a used set of bars or something. There was a chance Id be in the Danville area this weekend and have a set of used PT bushings and could have also picked the ES bushings from the local Summit Racing store.

 

Just would like to confirm that es part # 9.5165 are adequate clamps/bushings for the front PT sway bar?

odd enough, i found only one single pair of ES bushings at autozone... i believe it is 9.5165, not sure.

the measurement off the chart on the back of the pkg falls something slightly under 32mm, but seem close enouogh if not just a bit more of a tight fit.

still can't find anything for a 19mm bar at the store... any reason?

 

I found the same thing when I looked last week. Autozone and Advance both had the 31.5mm bushing in stock.
