I know zumn knows a good place for paint and fit for a body kit. I am planning to get a body kit and a paint job of a different color for the entire car. I was wondering if anyone knew a good paint shop that could do that for me in so cal. I live near Oceanside on base. Yeah, I'm a Marine, so what? A drive to San diego for a paint shop doesn't really bother me. Know of any good spots?

 

I had my body kit molded, fitted and my entire car repainted at Orange Coast Auto Body in Fountain Valley. I don't know if you're willing to bring the car up to Orange County to have it done, but I can assure you that they did an excellent job, you can ask some of the other SoCal owners who have seen my car in person and the fitment and finish is excellent.

I don't understand why you had to put "Yea I'm a Marine, so what" in your post. Nobody cares; in the sense that nobody is going to make fun of you for being in the Marine's ...or any other branch for that matter.

 

IM 2.5 hours from San Diego.. and the body shop is 15 mi from my house... They do they best PAINTING around here... better than other shops and NAME BRAND places.. probably around $3-4k for the entire car in a METALLIC color like Winning Blue... I onced asked him how much he would respray my whole car and he told me $2k... since he would have to do the engine bay....If you are willing to leave the car here.. I guaranteee you that you will not be dissapointed! You can leave it here and I can drive it back for you (IZZYRX8 fellow member aka my nephew) would follow me. I have family in SAN DIEGO so it really doesnt bother me. If you did get it done at my shop and want some other pieces like interior or engine cover or what not painted.. Im sure he'll throw it in for free Ill call him and ask him yeah? TOmorrow that is..what color BTW? SO i can give him the color code and he can figure out the LABOR+PARTS... It would probably take about 1 week in total... PM me if you are interested..

 

yeah doesnt rly make sense to me either. only thing i gather is that he's a marine and he's disciplined or used to long drives/waits or something.. and that a long drive to a paintshop wouldnt be much to him

 

someitmes you have to drive a couple cities to get quality job done right at a quality price and not burn a whole in ur pocket... and I can get him it at a DISCOUNTED price...and whatever color he is oging to choose he can bring spare parts and most likely have them sprayed for free.
