I threw all sensibility out the window and ordered velocity red mica on black/red GT (no NAV). Those cops will see me a mile away, but damn it looks so good!

It looks like I'm one of the only ones without a higher cost package. All the RX-7's I've owned were the top of the line models - always heavier and lacking in headroom because of the sunroof. This time I opted out of the sunroof equipped models. I also like a cloth interior in a sports car.

I hope I still like my decision when it arrives. The leather looks good.

I hear ya, kurt bob. My '91 coupe was leather with sunroof, but didn't really seem like it was really much heavier than cloth models. However, originally I did not want "the works" on my RX-8 due to weight and lack of interest in a sunroof. However, I was dead set on 2-tone leather. I really had to debate for quite a while. Ultimately, I decided that being a 28-yr. old father of twins, my priorities lay less with driving like a freak and more with having a nice car to enjoy in all sorts of ways. I say driving like a freak, because that is how I drove my FC, and now drive my 240SX. Freak in a good way, though, not a stupid, asinine way.

To Many Colors

I couldn't decide on a color so when I went to place the order I talked to the dealer. He said that because I was his first pre-order and he liked the cars I was torn between he would order both and I could pick when they came. It was great. I will probably have a harder time when they both are sitting next to each other.

1. Velocity Red, Grand Touring / W NAV, Chaparral leather
2. Titanium Grey, Grand Touring / W Nav, Chaparral Leather.

I hope the NAV doesn't add to much time.

Black/Black Grand Touring plus Nav. Yes, I know my butt is going to roast in the summer, but I miss having a black car

Nordic Green, Blk/Chap, GT 6-Spd
just added last week cargo net, tire kit, wind deflector, splash guards, cassette & spoiler (sounds like they won't be added at the factory)
dealer says should be here early June

Talked with MazdaUSA last week (6 May). They confirmed Mazda had received the options in time as the car was not in production yet and they would be all be added at the factory. The dealer told me 2 weeks ago that the car was already on a boat.

Hello Pam,

My name is Sunil and I am a local. I live in Stone Mountain and I ordered my car from Jim Ellis - Marrietta (sp?).

I ordered Titanium Grey with Red/Black and GT Package with NAVI

Where did you order yours . . . how much did the additions cost you?

I ordered through my Credit Union (avoiding dealer costs/add ons) who placed the order with Hennessy in Morrow. I have not heard how much that would add to the total cost yet, I am hoping no more than the prices quoted in the Mazda web site.

Talking

Well, I ordered a Titanium MT w/GT with a 6disk CD, black leather interior. I paid (will pay) exactly what it shown on the RX-8 website, plus tax. The dealer attempted to add on a $299 "Customer Service Fee" which I refused to pay so he deleted it. I understand that Mazda does not approve of "special" surcharges, unlike some Honda dealers charge for the S2000.
