I am still in the NEWBIE (going on 3rd week) stages of my RX-8 Ownership, but I am seriously considering some changes already...now it is MY car, but I am open to constructive critics, as well as some SUPPORT in these decisions.

I am already convinced on the MazdaBob/Brother Voodoo Grille as I have already bought the materials...just not installed...as well as the Front and Rear Rotary accents. That being said...I am in an AUTOMATIC/Winning Blue...so since Speed won't be an issue...I would like it to look FAST..hehe

I am considering the following:

Fender Strakes (pretty much a given)

Rear Splash Guards (not seeing much dirt build up on the front)

Interior Floor Night Lights (not sure on these...anyone have or like them??)

MP3/CD (which I am guessing is just a matter of choice)

The XMEN Style Wing (Yes...I know alot of opinions exist on this, but it is kinda growing on me....and since I have no wing on my car now....the price is rather affordable too)

The Piano Black B-Pillars (easy to install and why not)

Lastly... at this point anyway... I got 2 of the Zoom-Zoom decals from the dealership when I bought mine...not trying to get ricey or anything... but they are DARK BLUE and I am considering mounting them above either the Front Wheels or the REAR Wheels....not sure on this...I am not usually the decal type...as I dont want any K & N Filter advertisments or anything else...but thought these would make my 8 a bit unique.

I think whatever you want to do to your car, that looks tasteful in your opinion is fine, mine was one of the 1st on the lot, I didn't preorder, so it came pretty standard so I've bought F/R Rotary accents, the spoiler from Trussville Mazda, a Mazdaspeed oil cap, just ordered the strakes, and will probably do some painting of the plastic on the engine, get a different rear bumper, the Borla exhaust, (sounds the best IMO), and darker tint, and I don't give a damn who likes it or not, I also added a Tool (the band) sticker to my back window. If someone says something looks good, someone else is bound to say different. I would definitely do what you want with it x-men spoiler and everything. When I hear some more testimonials, I would probably order CZ's stage 1 mod. Just stay away from those Type R stickers.

 

Everything sounds good.... except.... I would put only one ZoomZoom decal at the top of the back window, or possibly down by your rear license plate. Just MHO.

 

Well...I do agree....as I do plan to do what I think looks good...but this is the best car I have owned (I have had a eclipse, Ply. Duster, Firebird, Expedition and yes.. a Focus)...sporty wise...I just wanna have fun with it...and make it look good.

As for the Zoom-Zoom....I have yet to take a good look at options on the placement....but I do have a Chrome Zoom-Zoom Rear Plate bracket....which is the only reason I am considering moving the decals to the sides....will have to look at it. I dont plan to add anything else to the sides of the car...as I dont want it to become a moving billboard....unless someone wants to sponser my Automatic and make the payments and let me drive....hehe

As for the TOOL sticker....I would do the same...but dont have one..yet... All and all.... I am cool with stickers and decals...just can't stand when people clutter the entire car with MOD stickers..etc.. I mean...if they don't pay me any extra or give me a hefty discount....why advertise for FREE... just MHO.

 

Sounds good, Vegas RX-8. I've got the piano black B pillars and they give a nice, subtle look. You get a glossy look all the way through the side window area, instead of having it broken up by the regular matte pillar.

I've also got the rotary accents and really like them, especially the rear one.

Zoom Zoom is out for me... most option is ok but if only having the X-men's wing without the bodykit will look odd.

Most Mazda option are expensive. You can consider parts directly from Japan like www.japanparts.com

 

Yeah..I agree..some kind of body kit or side flares..etc... will be added...but I am workin with a pretty small budget right now...all in time.
