It's automatic. So no, don't be a tool. Rebuild an rx7 FD. Then you'd be cool :D

My wife was telling me the same thing, and I assumed it was a manual (see where assuming gets you). Oh well back to searching

I hate all convertible corvettes with a passion. He sunk a bundle into that car. His loss is your gain, I guess.

If you want to be fast from a dig, get an automatic. Vettes are faster as automatics.
You're not going to be able to run it at the track, because with 750hp, you'll get kicked out once you get a decent run in. For some reason they don't like convertible 11 second cars with no roll cages.

If you're looking for a toy, get an old school Viper. Looks way better than this turd, and you're not really going to be able to funny unleash any of these cars on the street anyway.

If I didn't know that this car was produced in 1998, I would say this car started all Corvette driver sterotypes. Yes, it's that bad.

Corvette drivers are the worst. Midlife crisis slow in the fast lane drivers.

I was looking at this, but I'm not sure if I want to shell out the money to keep it maintained:

what are you looking for? A 750hp vette is quite a bit different than a 14 second FB. That's about as fast as the 8. It would definitely be a fun toy and project car, but not quite the same as what you were looking at. If you want a bit more pure acceleration, you'd probably want to look at a different rx-7. In the price range you're looking at, I would aim for a really fast FC or FD. I've seen a couple 20B FC's go for around that. If you're not against V8 swapped 7's, then that would also be an option. I also like the viper option mentioned above. Do you want something that's straight line fast, good at handling or both?

For speed on a budget, can't really beat a used Corvette.

If that's true, and you plan to drag it, you really are better off with an auto transmission on a corvette.
