Then I wouldn't go for that 7 you posted unless you plan on doing a bit more to it. It's not slow, but it's comparable to the 8... and I'm guessing you want a bit more than that. There's quite a few options so it really just comes down to looking around and figuring out what is most appealing. I've been looking at trading the 8 for an audi S4. The speed is not the only reason, but when you modify the bi-turbo 6 cylinder model well, those things are ridiculously fast. I'm guessing you're looking for something a bit more sporty looking though...

If all you want is straight up speed (I'm assuming you mean a straight line?) then go look at a new Camaro SS. They're not very expensive and they're pretty quick right out of the box if memory serves - I think I've seen them tested in the mid 12s for the 1/4 from most sources. Probably not as fast as that yellow disaster, but a pretty good launching point I would think.

I'd never buy one, but they've got a lot of oomph for their price range.

Funny that you mentioned the new camaro ss considering I just got back from the dealership today looking at one. It would have been a great choice if only every dealership in town here were not marking them up 10k-15k. Midway chevy overhere have a v6 base camaro going for 35k on the sticker, and the ss I was looking at had 50k on the sticker; not including dealer fees.

Holy crap, that's ludicrous! The SS should be 35k, not the V6. Maybe that explains why I've only seen 2 of them on the road so far. Is that CEObama's plan to make up the money GM has been flushing lately? :D
