I have clear rear fender flare protectors on my rx-8. They look like little rectangles on the proximate (door) side of the rear fender flares. Are these on everyone's car? Is this something the dealership forgot to remove from shipping? Are they valuable to leave on to prevent rock chips, or are they going to mess up the paint underneath? They are quite stealthy, I just noticed them today.

 

They're rock guards, and everyone has them. Just watch it if you claybar your car, because the clay LOVES to get stuck around the edges of the guards.
