Thumbs up Canadian Car of The Year Award goes to...

Yup, you guessed it. The Mazda RX-8 won the car of the year, under the category of Best New Sports/Performance Vehicle. Didn't seem to see anyone post this yet so I'm sorry if this has already been posted. The RX-8 wasn't the only winner, because Mazda had four entries in total this year (2004). Four entries and four awards....hmmmm not bad in my book is it? .

In summary, the winners are:

1&2)Mazda 3/Sport for "Best New Economy Car"
3)Mazda 6 for "Best New Family Vehicle" and last but not least...
4)Mazda RX-8 for "Best New Sports/Performance Vehicle"

Well, yes, it's been posted in several threads already.

Your thread, however, is pretty misleading - there will be a single AJAC Car of the Year winner, but the RX-8 isn't it - yet. As you later mention, the RX-8 won it's category, so it's just a category winner. The overall AJAC Car of the Year will be selected in February, IIRC.

Regards,
Gordon
