they do it for several reasons.
1. aftermarket industry would cry bloody murder if they maxed out the LSx engine from the factory.
2. it would be more expensive.
3. it would be very dangerous if every corvette driver had 700whp
4. gas mileage.

And probably the number one reason is sound...they have to legally stay under a certain decibel.

I think you'd like it...but be warned...you will miss your RX8. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of Victoria...yes I named my RX8...
