Removing exhaust shrouds

Hi everyone. My racing beat exhaust system will be here tomorrow morning and right now I'm working on removing the stock exhaust. I've ran into a problem though with removing the plastic exhaust shrouds. I have removed the two fasteners on each one but the plastic tabs that go around the inside will not budge. I have tried squeezing them with needle nose pliers but the tabs wont move in and allow the shroud to be pushed out a little. I'm guessing they are too brittle and they might need some heat to make them more flexible. Let me know what you guys did for your exhaust installs. Thanks

They should just pull out. I broke one tab on mine when it got stuck real easy to do, but it still goes back together like there is nothing wrong. Sometimes you just got to work it around and have a small screw driver to push down on the tabs. Where at in pa are you from.

A fastener remover is your best friend...especially if you plan to remove anything else on the car...I think its like $6 at Advanced Auto.
