ok so this my first post and i need help. i have a 04 rx8 mt with a cold air intake. so i was out yesterday and i went to go in to first gear and it bogs down. not like a little loss in power i mean like really loud vribrating the car kinda of bogging down. so i pulled over and opend the enging and there wasnt any kinda smoke there but the pipe is spittting out a light blueish wite smoke that it didnt befor. so i tryed to drive it home and i found out that when it gets to about 7000 rpm it goes away and almost redlines but if u get anywhere between 0-6000 rmp. its like the engine is not getting any air or to much air. or too much fuel or not getting any at all. i think its the fuel filter or the pump but it could also be the cat or some kinda oil problem. has this happend to any of you befor or have any ideas what it could be.

 

Im pretty sure it could be coolant being burnt or something, or a crazy vacuum leak.

 

ya i thought that too but its not over heating and it wouldnt regain all its power at 7000 rpm

do you have any error codes? "check engine light"?

 

ya the cel is flashing but i dont have a scan tool so i cant check the code

 

ya it i finaly got it back up on a lift and it was the cat it was cloged and was creaiting back pressure causeing the engine to bogdown
