the "point" is he now has a 1650-1700lb car with 190hp, i.e. fast as crap and easy to flog around a track.

If the car does indeed weigh 1,700 lbs, there are 8.95 lbs/hp, an improvement from the standard 10.03 lbs/hp.

If he had bought an Exige S, it would be 8.65 lbs/hp.

He could have saved a ton of money....

Exige has been supercharged since 2007 model year. '07 had 220hp, '08 had 240hp (or 220 depending on IC or not), '09 had 260hp. I'm guessing his car as an aftermarket SC so assume anywhere between 220 and 275 at the wheels. I'll check LotusTalk and see if I can't find more specs...

ah... its an '02 in Hong Kong so power is only 135hp so I stand corrected on the assumption. There were no SC Exige's available for street apps at that point (I'm not sure if the Motorsport Elise was out either). Basically, someone looking for some thing unique. Looks like there are LOTS of suspension and other handling mods though. click here for more info As for saving money, some people just don't care, wish I could be one of them.

With that body and the newer 275rwhp kits, I can't imagine very many people would be able to keep the car under control, but man, it would be fun to try!

Yeah, you're probably right. He should have just put a fiberglass hood on it with a couple layers of carbon for apperance sake which weighs more than the stock hood and called it a day...
