Question Metra kit question.... Borken 6disc and dont know what to do.

My 6disc cd player recently locked up. I have an 04 with the bose premium system. I run a high to low convertor with 2 10s and a 15 in the trunk. I didnt know about the metra kit til this happened and I'm wondeing if anyone has pictures of the metra kit installed. Looks matter a great deal to me with this car and point blank ther factory head unit looks badass in it. But as we all know the 6 disc is expensive to replace, even if u buy a used one. Also does the metra kit work with the bose amps? I do not want to replace anything but the headunit. Any help would be great...... Thanx in advance everyone

Mine is getting installed tomorrow so I will take some pics and upload them for you.

The kit has nothing to do with boss amp, its the radio that would have that option...

You need to search for answers before asking these questions bro. There are a few threads on the Bose system, Metra kits, ect..... and it gets annoying when folks just pop out a question that can be found on this site by a search.
First off the Metra kit is only a mounting adapter to install aftermarket radios, DVD players, high end headunits.
A Bose will work with the Metra, do some research on what you want and need.

Some folks are kinda gruff when the same **** is asked time and time again, get a tough skin if you are on a web fourum this is not kiddiegarten. Don't take it personal.

The metra thread is illed with about 25 pages of people debating functions of their head unis, i found many people asking if the bose system was compatible but no straight answers. Forums are usually for having people help you with stuff and do "research". This is why i asked the damn question. If you have a problem with that then have them take down my question. Thiss w rarey post on this forum, there are a bunch of asshjoleds on here that are rude as hell andf seem like they have nothing better to do than sit around and see if this forum is not within thier own guidelines. Most of these people dont know a damn thing about a car to begin with. I am a certified master mechanic, have been working on cars for 16yrs and make damn good money doing so. I had a simple question that could have saved about 3-4hrs of reading about how long it takes for certain headunits to power up or how long it takes to ship from installers.com and still not know for sure before i spend over $150.00 on something. I looked all over the web and on here and could not find a direct answer. Thought this is what forums were for, but if it wastes your time because i didnt ask the question on the 37 page thread that is pretty much useless when it comes to basic compatibility questions then dont read the damn question and move on.

Rxjaye,

Chillax. If you read the thread you would know that there are "Bose Kits" (whatever they are called) for aftermarket head units. The Metra kit just holds whatever head unit you wanna buy, it has nothing to do with the Bose amps. Also you asked if anyone had pics of the Metra kit installed and the link I posted has plenty of pics. I didn't think I was rude and I too hate fanbois who are constantly citing forums rules but you still have to be reasonable.

Peace.

Trust me on this I feel the same as you do, it can be a real time intensive deal looking though 100+ posts to get the help you need. Please realise that the same questions will get asked so many times that you want to scream at the screen DO A F#$%$^G SEARCH!!!
I tend to keep in the shadows and only give advice when I feel it is warranted.
Good luck on your stereo, keep us informed.

The metra kit does work with the bose unit. It also does more than just hold the head unit. But i found out it is has a really bad tendency of screwing up. I instead replaced my six disc. went with a dice ipod adapter ( so i can run my sirius sat on the aux) added the pac-audio rca adapter to get rid of the high to low convertor i installed before and put 2 JL W3 12"s and a premium series MB Quart 15 in. It sounds Amazing.
