Ok so a little help suspension wise

My car is at a friend's shop installing a couple of mods to the engine. So I recieve a call from him this morning that there was oil uner the car and when he went to check the rear driver's side shock's seal was blown and the oil had spilled so I need to go to the dealer to get a replacement under warranty since the car only has like 12k miles.

I think its a good time to start looking into a better suspension arrangement. I was thinking of going with some springs + shocks that dont lower the ride much.

I thought about the mazdaspeed, the RB and the HR for springs. And then maybe a set of koni yellow or something for shocks. What do you guys think of this? Do you have any other suggestions?

I have Koni's + Mazdaspeed springs. I like it, but it leaves some wheel gap in the front.

If you don't really want to go lower the mazdaspeed or swift springs + Koni's are great.

how much do swift springs lower?

I just dont want to lower too much becuase the car is low from stock as it is. Dont want to be scraping all around.

Unless you have a kit you really do not need to worry about lowering too much. With a 1" - 1.5" drop up front you will still have plenty of clearance.

I'd go for a full matched coilover kit - ~$900

Imput1234 has a nice set of swift springs for sale. Swift springs paired with some Koni Yellows or D-Spec's are a very nice setup.

Tein s-techs.
cost: 176 shipped
why: elimates most of the wheel gap, corrects the un-even wheel gap, lower 1.5 in front and .75 in back

tokico d specs
cost: 550-600
why: adjustable, easy to adjust-no need to remove rears to adjust like koni's

if your a track *****, go with the koni's but if you want to be able to adjust and fine tune on the fly without having to go thru the pain of removing the rear struts all the time, go for the tokico's (plus they are cheaper!)
having said that, i was a koni fan for a long time, but the rear ease of adjustment on the tokico's won me over in the end.

also, while your at it, throw some progress tech sways on there. you can get a set for about 310 shipped

edit: see my pictures in my album to see what the drop for s-techs looks like, i have not had any problems bottoming out or anything. i think it's the perfect drop.
