New Audi TT

Here are some more sneak peeks at the upcoming Audi TT RS which is slated for its official unveiling at the Geneva auto show next month.

Notice the brake calipers with the RS badge on them? Yes, they've beef up the braking system but, more importantly, its a sign that Audi means business by slapping an RS tag even there.

The TT RS hearkens back to the brash, daring Audi's of the 1980s with a 5-cylinder engine providing the boogie for this top-of-the-line sports version of the TT.

Available in both coupe and cabriolet body styles, the TT RS will come with a turbocharged 2.5 liter, 5-banger churning out 340 hp (253kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. A 6-speed manual gearbox manages the transfer of power to the all-wheel drive system. 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) comes in at around 5 seconds, with top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).

Distinguishing the TT RS on the outside (besides the badge, of course) over the 272 hp TT S model are the larger front air vents, twin-spoked alloy wheels, a fixed wing at the back and a new rear diffuser.

The TT RS will come with LED daytime running lights to accompany the bi-xenon headlights and on the inside there's an RS cabin package with Alcantara and leather sports seats, a sports steering wheel with lots of functionality and an RS badge smack in the middle of the central console that let's everyone know what exactly you're driving.

Unless you're in the US, in which case, you won't, as of yet, get a chance to own one of these as Audi hasn't green-lighted the TT RS for the North American market.

The TT RS will be rolled out in markets across Europe in the weeks after its Geneva

Wow. Audi did something to the TT! They usually only give it minor performance mods, but damn thats a big jump.

I would so get that one if I was a Hairstylist.

Sucks that it isn't coming to NA, pretty ironic too since N.A. supposedly loves BIG horspowered cars. I just hope it's AWD and doesnt understeer torwards a wall.

The clip says it's AWD.

For it to be sold in America, first it will have to have the turbo removed to meet emission (double) standards. Then it will only have DSG as a transmission option because nobody in this country knows how to drive. And it will be FWD because the non-turbo 2.5 won't be able to send any power to an AWD system.

Though I kid, it saddens me that my sarcasm has roots in the truth.

Damn... the regular V6 version is already over $40k before any options. It seems like a nice car, but for what the RS will probably cost I can't imagine choosing it over an M coupe or Cayman.

I like it a lot. Here in PR it sucks cause they only bring it with dsg, no manuals. And they are VERY expensive.

I sat in the TT S a week ago at the Dallas car show. I have to say it does look pretty cool in person, and the interior is cool as well. Much more aggresive looking and shedding alot of its previous "girly" look. The RS looks to be even more impressive, but yea, these things are freakin expensive. IDK how they sell, the Audi brand name is what ur paying for because that car's appearance and performance does not justify its hefty tag IMO.

Great looking car, i am sure the price tag won't justify its performance, the V6 that is with DSG. Other than that the new TT looks awesome!

Those performance figures are much better than what they've been at previously. This is what the regular TT should be at; the RS should be faster.

I've never been to excited about the TT - ever. Its sleek, but not bold with its design. Tasteful; but I don't think I am exactly in their target market.

It was said before, for the price range and power, etc. BMW Coupes start looking pretty good, and many of them are available in the US in moderately unmolested form.
