Basic Greddy kit, bought used.
Greddy blowoff valve, installed by kit owner. (nice job)
Stock maf pipe, with stock mesh before and after the maf.
REALLY big intercooler.
Custom silicone reducer elbows to fit kit piping to intercooler.
Using stock oil pan instead of the Greddy, because it has my oil pre-heater mounted.
Presently in process of AP tuning.

Mounted six Prosport gauges,
Boost, EGT and water temp on top of the dash,
and oil temp, oil pressure and fuel pressure in an RB ashtray pod.
(Using AP for air/fuel ratio readout)

Wrapped the downpipe, header and midpipe in fiberglass tape, secured by stainless bands and soaked in hi-temp paint. Made a nice hard coating when it finally stopped smoking......

Install went well, other than I forgot to replace the motor mount when the instructions said, so had to undo quite a bit to get it back in. (Doh!)
Interested in Kane's comment that "...it's easier if you take the driver side mount off, too" Is it worth the trouble?
I had my motor sitting on wood blocks, so it didn't move anyway.....
Does anyone think the huge intercooler might reduce/minimize boost spikes?
As for the 'feel', I had thought that the power would be all in the 'boost' section of the gauge - normal feel in vacuum, with push and power coming on as the manifold saw positive psi, however my butt-dyno feels plenty'o'urge even at minus 5........didn't expect that.

Yes, the engine bay is disgusting, but it's minus 30* outside and I ain't gonna wash it till spring! (April.....) It's six years old now.
I'm pretty sure with some good aluminum skills, the airbox could be used - I've seen proposals for the stock box with a side outlet, too.
The stock setup has before'n'after screens - without a turbo - if the impeller causes any resonances, or flutters during a surge, the screen may be useful....

I don't follow putting fans on the intercooler. This makes sense on the radiator or oil coolers as both water and oil systems are constantly absorbing heat from the engine and are in need of dissipation even at a standstill.
Those conditions don't apply to your FI system and by extension the intercooler. It will only need to perform its task under load. And you don't want those fans impeding flow through the intercooler and negatively impacting its performance.

Install took about a week, taking it real slow - five hours to warm the garage, then a couple hours of wrenching before bed. Hardest part was probably the oil supply - I fitted a 'sandwich' filter adapter with three holes - oil press, oil temp and turbo oil supply, then just had to work out how to angle it right. (No leaks! WooHoo!!)
Friggin gauges took ten days! Going thru the firewall was a bitch, so I installed a big cable of 12 wires, then just joined up on each side, worked well except the EGT, which has dedicated wires.
You're probably right about the fans - but given that the I.C. completely blocks the rad opening (!) I figured some mechanical air movement might be required......

Yeah, you should feel gains even at -10" as the turbo is gently pushing additional air towards the engine.
I'd get rid of the fan too. there is no need to cool intercooler when at a stand still. get a meth kit if you want lower temps

Congrats on the install . Have you done any full on boosting yet ?
