i just have a quick question/ guidance on building a 250-290 whp RX8. first off , the rx8 is my boss' car. me and couple of my friends are going to help him build his car and he's looking to spend around 3G - 4G on his rx8. he wants his car to push out 250-290 whp and i dont no where to start. i dont know what brand is good to mod with on a rx8, how the spec will come out, etc etc. so if anyone will be generous enough to guide me through this build, it will be very appreciated. greddy kit is the only thing that will hit that price point unless you custom make it.

 

get the base greddy kit its good for 260 out of the box....with tuning and a boost controller 290.....it cost about 3500 new....and then about 1000 to install...and maybe a lil more for a tune....try searching...

 

Screw the greddy kit, tell your boss to give you the 4G in cash, buy the turbo off eBay, get the fuel saver intake mod that creates a vortex of air off eBay, get the fuel saver electric chip mod off eBay, get larger fuel injectors off eBay - install them yourself easily and pocket the remaining 3500 bucks.

get a used greddy kit.

 

stock greddy kit makes like 240 whp range. with boost controller 270 is about typical. getting to 290 is not easy and it's not a good idea to push that turbo that far.

 

used GReddy kit with the Mazda Maniac turbo upgrade

 

would be more then his budget

 

The OP is not realistic. He has the wrong car is he expects that result with his budget. Double your budget and maybe you can get it done. Even if he finds deals on the stuff he is still too light in the budget.

 

how do you figure a grand for the install. j/w
