I just got my 06' RX8 shinka from Green Bay and drove her all the way back up to Alberta a couple weeks back. However, I've driven it a good 3000 miles the last month and I have a whole bunch of little scratches over the car. Plus it's black so everything shows. Now I know it's going to happen over time but today I got off work only to find that someone had dinged the passenger door handle, which just sent me over the edge. I hate seeing the imperfections every second time I look at her, do you guys have any good suggestions for someone who knows nothing about buffing/polishing, and doesn't want to do it himself. If I took it to a shop how much should I expect it to cost to get her back to top condish?

how deep are the scratches?

 

are you located in mexico? lol a paint correction job it will probably run around 200 to 300 depending on what you want plus a little more to top it with a high end wax or sealant. 300-350

hahahaha! yes that's the price range i have seen around here. never ever heard of 80 bucks......

 

Most of them are light scratches, just through the clearcoat and a couple deeper ones. I went to a place called 'detailz' here in calgary. service was really good, price wasn't too bad either. I paid $250 for 2-stage polishing plus a decal removal and an "engine wash" (lol). They got rid of the light scratches, but the deeper ones are still there just less noticeable. She really shines! 80 bucks? no chance, this was the best deal I could find for good service.

 

hmm for the money you could have bought a Porter Cable and DIY...but to each his own.

somehow ever since I've started polishing my RX8, we've bonded and become closer.
