Its been along while since I have posted here fellas...here is the current tally on my 8: new engine replaced at 75,XXX with about 2500 miles on the new engine now; new tranny, new radiator, racing beat intake with duct, biltstein struts, multi tint foglights, jdm b-pillar, tranny cooler, Clarion N.I.C.E. (jpeg viewer, navigation, sat radio, 10gb mp3 hard drive, rear view cam), dvd player under passenger seat, usb connection in glove box, Sirius radio, mazda mp3 player, rear view cam mounted in rear rotary accent, exhaust shrouds, 18" stern stII rims, custom tan/black leather, suede headliner in black to match the interior, painted gray pieces on ceiling (including visors) flat black to match the headliner, shiftstyle front and rear arm rest covers, custom 1/2" thick pyle lloyd mats. The downsides so far are that I have not figured out a way to hack the Clarion so that it allows DVD player viewing while vehicle is in motion...I'm not that caught up with it though. I like the ability to transfer songs right from my laptop to the car. The NICE has a remote and I have the PIE adapter so that I can activate the unit from the steering wheel. The only thing left with this car that I want to do is supercharge it; but that is gonna have to wait till I finish dental school and I have a second vehicle.

Wow. Must have cost a lot.
Did you do the install on the Clarion unit yourself? If you didn't you might want to check if the unit has ground wire that might be grounded to the e-brake. Park your car and test it by playing a dvd when you have the e-brake on and when you have it disengaged. My friend found the ground wired to his parking brake on his car and removed and it worked while he was driving. I could be wrong with your setup though. Good luck.

Thanks for the complements; I'm a sophomore at Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville - getting on the road back Sunday. I'll check that ground wire also.

 

Good stuff. Time to work on the exterior!!

 

Exterior I'm fine with for now - after some boost then maybe the mazdaspeed kit.
