Hail damage! Want to upgrade & need help.

I'm not sure this is where this goes, so bare with me. Yesterday coming back from a run with our local club we ran into a hail storm. My car looks like it has white chicken pox all over it..I think the only thing that didn't get hurt was the plastic bumpers.

I know my insurance will cover it, and I have a $0.00 deductible through USAA on Comprehensive, so I'm good. The thing is as with most 8's...I have orange peel..so I'm thinking...why not get rid of it..Some of these places are to bare metal, so I should be able to get this done.

I also want some additional paint work done as a part of the beginnings of the theme I'm working on for the hood..

I do not know how working with Insurance and upgrading works..I WISH I had my kit here......I'd just have it installed and have the car painted all at once.

Any advice on how this works would be appreciated....

Most insurance companies and the body shops doing the work typically have no problem ordering aftermarket panels, hoods, tec. as long as they dont exceed the cost of the OEM parts. Check with your body shop first they are the ones that will be ordering the parts you need. Also they shouldnt have a problem with aftermarket parts as long as they dont require any additional labor cost...

Very often that's as long as they don't exceed the cost of third party parts that are certified (by the insurance companies) to meet OEM specs. Or of good used parts.
