white smoke from A/C and strange hiss from engine

the white smoke came out as soon as i turned on the a/c while driving on the highway, then i immediately turned it off and pulled the car over and popped the hood, but there was no smoke there. there was, however, a strange hiss that ive been noticing...

any ideas?? thanks all

Phil

Sure it wasn't water vapor? That's pretty common under certain temp-humidity conditions. See it in airliners quite frequently.

did you recharge your AC lately? I saw this on an 8 last weekend that we added too much AC coolant to.

condensation

hummidity condensation will cause a fog or steam look like effect comming from your vents with the rapid change in temperature...the hissing i would diagnose further to be sure everything is ok...

white smoke is just water vapor, this happened to me on a really humid day while blasting the A/C on cold with windows down.

My old accord would do that from time to time when the weather was just right.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it smelled bad.

i had that happen once.... but my issue was a bit different....

1st off.... did it smell like antifreeze? cause if so, your heater core blew, and you are breathing poison. bad stuff....

any who, my heater core corroded and one cold winter day, i turned on my defroster... not good...

if it doesn't smell like antifreeze, you are fine... but antifreeze IS poisonous if ingested (and assuming the vapor that smells like antifreeze has some of those poisonous properties, and you breathe it in......)

hope everything is alright.... just a caution

I had it happen once when a plastic bag got sucked up next to the manifold...

cleaned it off and installed Hymee screens.

thanks for the advise all
yea i talked it over with a buddy of mine and he was telling me something along the same lines, that it was probably jus freon or water vapor. i dont remember it having any sort of a smell cus i shut it off pretty quick, but it hasnt happened since so i hope theres nothing to worry about.

but as for the hissing...it makes a slightly weird noise hiss in the mid rpm range but only when in gear. is it the lsd im hearing? maybe i jus need to change the fluids...

does the hiss only last for like 2-3 seconds? and does it happen when you go from say 3600 rpm to 4100rpm? cause that could be the SDAIS system operating...
