RX-8 Buy advise

Hello Everyone.

I will be purchasing a RX-8 next week and I think I am getting it at a great price from the dealership. I have visited this forum a few times and its help me make my decision. I would like to run the numbers by you guys to ensure that I am getting a good deal. Only thing that is bugging me is the warranty. This car only has about 2 years left of its warranty. I don’t want to get into my third year of payments and start having things die.

Vehicle price $19,000 (was $20,000 originally)
Taxes (6%) 1,100
Dealership tax, tag, and dealer fees of $400
Delivery to house 250

Total price 20,750

Not worth it for a 2nd hand car. I love my car a lot, but business is business. you can probably ask for 17K b4 taxes and fees.

I find this odd because according to Mazda that car should run about $32K at the lowest.

2008 RX-8 40th Anniv. Edt.

dealers are blowing out the leftover '08s for $6k to as much as $10k off msrp, now that the '09s are here. you should try to get those deals if you're willing to pay 20k

KBB is absurdly pro-dealer and anti private party or trade-in. I think most areas' banks use NADA, and it's much more realistic.

I just sold a Toyota Tacoma privately for $9500 (and the guy was VERY excited about it). KBB told me I could fetch $7200 for trade in or sell for $8500 privately. It's "retail" (dealer) value was nearly $12000. NADA said $10,125. On a side note, I'm probably 4-5 months away from buying an RX8 because of this sale

Based on my looking around I think a 2006 should fetch around $18000. It's racked up a few more miles than I would like on such a new car, but there's no harm in using $17k as a starting point for your end of the negotiations. $20000 is too much for that car.

Really? I was just at that exact Mazda dealer in Long Beach on the 10th, which was actually two weeks ago, and had only one brand new '08 VR 8 (hence sig) and a used '05 SS. I guess it's probably gone now.

2008 purchase

I bought mine is so. florida. Carmax offered me 11,000 for my 05 RX-8 with 28K. That company is something else. Saw in the NY papers that GT's were being discounted 7,500. E mailed a dealer here. By the way all 2008 RX-8s get a 3,500 rebate from Mazda. My 40 Anniver edition was 34k before fees and taxes, about 1,8000. Bought it for 12K and my car. Gusess carmax was a little low

deals can be had if you don't mind demo, GS or automatics.
The best price so far for 08s are only 8k off and that's with cash payment. Not including Freight & PDI and tax!
