I had been toying around with picking up a new Audi A5, I love the headlights. So I have been kicking around some ideas on setting up the headlight assemblies on the 8 to have the LED Running Light look.

Well Folks, I did it... Although it is late and the pic is with my phone, Here is a thumb of the basic idea. In the morning I have my new headlight assemblies coming in and will do the complete install on them and get some nice pics for you ppl.

I am going to get with the admin's and see if they wont mind me selling the kit with a step by step guide, as will i post a DIY.

the pics are a top and bottom view, I thin kin the final I am going to go with the bottom install, and follow the line of the assemblies curve, sweet!!!!

trust me i know, I will have them tomorrow and you wont be dissapointed, like I said its with my phone and the glare was rediculous

 

even from the crap pics i can tell they look better than this

 

i actually have them running up the entire bottom side of the head assembly, so they run up the curve as well... and they are like a plasma white, im so amped about he end product.

personally, i think the rope diamond LED running headlights on the entire Audi line are THE ugliest part of the cars. they just look tacky & weird. almost like they were an afterthought.

 

there is another thread of a guy doing this in the main forum.. he failed imo.

 

to me this looks like a reflection of some kinda of stadium lighting with the high light source on the fender as well... and why are the lights in a different position in the second pic??? because the camera is in a defferent position???
Anyone else think these photos are suspect? with the quality I really cant see where the lights physically are...
If you end up producing decent pics then I rescend everything Ive said but until then this doesnt look real...

 

Stock is the best. Messing with a good thing is not. Next up someone will be trying this with their 8.

everyone seems to be tacking on led strips to them. i love the audi r8, but when people are trying to DIY the headlight leds for their own car, it just gets overplayed.

I think whoever decides to do these needs to A. put them in the headlights (creating a retainer for them in there would actually look pretty sick) and B. Space out the LEDs!

I dont do mickey mouse work, like some of the stuff ive seen on cars, i mean c'mon. If it looks like it doesnt belong there, THEN IT DOESNT BELONG THERE, right.

Make sure you get the matching LED windshield washer tabs for the hood, chrome hub caps, make your own spoiler, then drive your car off a cliff.

ya, I'm not a fan at all either. looks pretty ricey IMO but if you like it thats all that matters.
