Shudder when getting on and off the gas
Hey all, thanks in advance. I tried looking but I couldn't find any previous threads that addressed my issue.
Basically, while driving in any gear at 3000+ RPM, the car shudders a bit when taking my foot off the gas. This happens even in the tall gears. It also shudders when I get back on the gas unless I ease it back on real gently. This doesn't seem normal to me. Are my engine mounts bad? The shuddering feels like the car is jerking forward and back before accelerating or decelerating smoothly, like a small amount of wheel hop.

Could be...does your car fall in with the years listed here? You gave us no info. Here is the TSB...

Yeah, it falls into that range of VINs. I have a 2004 sport (per my sig). It's curious though, because my car exhibits those symptoms in all gears, not just 3rd below 3000 RPM. Hmm... looks like a trip to Mazda is in my future.

I have the same issue. Mine does not fall in that range, though. Mine is a few thousand higher than that. Sometimes I wonder if I have that problem anyway, like the guys at the factory decided to finish off the last batch of bad engine mounts. Is there a (somewhat easy w/ a lift) way to visually inspect the engine mounts to see if they're bad?
