'04 MT GT w/high miles

hey guys I've been looking for an 8 for such a long time! Prefereably not something over 16k. I found a black 04 MT GT with every option...only problem is its got 84k miles on it. I really want yellow, but black and WB are my next favorite. anyway, thats a LOT of miles for an 8. They have it listed for 12,500 but I wouldnt offer more than 10k for it dont you think? The carfax report looks good on it...1 owner, no accidents, and it showed the emissions recall was done. Now, assuming that ALL of the recalls were done and there are no accidents what do you guys think? The last thing I want is to get a 'sweet' deal on an 8 and then drive it for a month and have to sink a ton of money into it.

you can do the compression tests for the 2 rotors on it and it wouldnt hurt to lowball and you can always throw the engine life vs warranty on them. tell them it wasnt your preferred choice in color but youve found one with the similar pricing like farther out from you but since they were closer you came to them first. for the recrord where are is the car located?

They're in IL, and I'm in MI. The dealer by me has a LY with 37k mi on it for 16,999. Loaded, but I found another one just like it with 24kmi on it for 14.999. aahhh the bargaining.

the bargaining will only help you, unless you find yourself getting thrown out of dealers

so about how much should I expect to pay for the compression test? You'd think if the car was taken care of properly there wouldnt be too much to worry about right? even with 84k mi on it?

try a dealer for one, or if you have any rotary friends they can help you, not sure on the price, but even if it was maintained well for 84k miles i would still check up on it cuase the last thing you want is an engine problem / replacement. and if its the dealer telling you it was well maintained they are just trying to move cars.
