Apparently two different companies made the stock wheels, so they can either weight 21 lb or 22.5 lb.

Not sure, but again there are two makes: Bridgestone and Dunlop. So a total of four possible wheel + tire weights.

I believe the RE40's weigh 28lbs. Never checked the dunlops but you could check some websites to find out.

Which Dunlops do you have? Tirerack.com has weights listed.

Just ran a quick search and I think your Dunlops are SP Sport 8090. If so then the 225/45/18 weigh 25lbs.

That sounds wrong to me. The wheel would have to be 18lb with 26lb tire.

Did you use a standard bathroom scale?

It was stated some OE wheels weigh 21lbs and dunlops weigh 23lbs - 25lbs. Assuming Dan has the best of both worlds then his would weigh 44lbs.

yeah i noticed that when i bent my rim. The ******** at my dealership, aka Lafayette Motors Co., ordered the wrong mold and i had to wait a whole extra week. Does anybody know what company weighs what? and does the company differ in year of production of the car or shipment of the car?

Wtf!

i remember weighing my stock set and it came back around 48lbs iirc.

all i remember for sure was the 275/40/17 with 17x9.5 rpf1(16lb 2~4oz) total 44-45 lbs. then again, i thought it be right for a tire of that size to be rather heavy.

so am i really getting no better than the oem combo in terms of weight?

maybe so, or it could be that i have the "22.5" lb mold wheels like stated. but yeah, you're lucky to be getting that weight. and i measured with rather new tire life...

According to Tire Rack the stock RE40s weigh 27 lbs and the stock Dunlops weigh 25 lbs.

Some people have reported here that there are two different manufacturers of our wheels also: LM= U-Mold or H= Hitachi. Most people seem to say the stock wheels are around 22.5 lbs but tpyror said his wheels weighed in at 18.5 lbs. Hard to believe there's such a difference but, if so, it would be really nice to confirm this.
