I was having a blast at being the only person in the Durham region with a Yellow RX8. I discovered to my horror that there is a brand new Yellow GT with automatic, moonroof, and NAV (I think) for sale at the Whitby Mazda dealership.

The salesman said that this is the only new automatic available in Canada right now.

Your dealer is on crack, there're 2 brand new automatics available on showroom floors in Edmonton that I know of, I don't think they have Nav though. Why a sports car even comes in automatic is beyond me......

 

Crack is right.... they like to say these things to make a sale.

Sorry, I wasn't talking down to the original poster or anything, sometimes the expression is lost in text.

Anyway, all I meant was that it bugs me when salesmen talk BS to their customers to try and make sales. Thank God for the internet and forums like this, it makes it harder for these guys to get away with telling lies to their customers.

 

Yeah, that car's been on the lot for over a month (that's when I seen it inside the showroom). I has the NAV in it.
They also (when I was there) has a red GT with roof/nav and alot of accessories on it, but they wanted way too much money for it.

 

Last time I heard Dave from Mazdees in Pickering had a yellow one on order from the inception. I figure he's got it by now if he ended up buying it/not participating in the buyback... So you may not be alone out there.

I'm the same way, it's good to see a similar car (in my case white S5), but at the same time you kind of want to be the only one around with it. Some guy right near me bought an S4 TII and converted the tail lenses to the famed S5 'orbs' right after he got his hands on it. It was like my car had a doppleganger. In the midterm he's wrapped it around something solid because last time I saw it, it was in a driveway with the front end all wrinkled up. Now I am the lone white S5 again.

 

That sucks... Three of us with Yellow RX-8s. The only other RX-8 I've seen here is Ron Jeremy's black.
