The only reason to drop change on TE37's is for track duty. For the best handling on the track, and cheaper track tires, consider 17".

I suspect this is more of a cosmetic purchase, however, so go for the 19". Yes, it will be harsh with less overall grip, but probably will have better initial responsiveness.

 

You should do chromed 22's and get the 22'' badging for your car.
That will look dope.

I think you'll find most people that get the TE37s do it for the blingy "I'm a balla with Volks" effect.

For a complete answer, what exactly do you plan to do with your car? Additionally, how are the roads in your area?

 

If you can afford lightweight 19"s, then go for it. They definitely look better than 18"s.

Go with 18's, if your worried about performance. You should notice a huge improvement if you go from OEM to TE-37s in 18's, they are forged and light. Heck even the TE's in 19's are 2lbs lighter than OEM.

Roads are pretty bad to be honest.

Im not building a track car. Its a daily driver but i enjoy taking it out on the country roads and giving it a good thrashing. Dont want to wreck that.

the new 8's come with 19s you should take that into consideration. if its good enough for an 09 then its good enough for your car.

 

If you really want to know, go find your favorite set of tires and check the 18's and 19's prices on them. If you don't cry, go with the 19's.

 

If the roads are pretty bad, how will you feel about bending a Volk rim?

 

if the roads are bad, you can bend any wheel, any size.. its not as if a huge pothole won't hurt a 18 inch wheel. Yes an 18 inch wheel wil have more rubber and a higher profile most likely but the point is if you're buying pricey new wheels be careful regardless of size of road hazards.

i had a tough time also deciding between 18 and 19s. All the pros about 18s are totally legitimate, but as most have said it depends on what your preferences are.

I went with 19s, on a daily driver in DC and the roads suck. I went with lightweight 19s (lighter than oem ) and invested in good tires (michelin ps2) to sort of find a happy medium.

While 18s may have given me an edge performance wise, the style of 19s I prefer so i did my best to try to make up the performance difference by getting good tires and a light 19'' wheel.

 

Why not raise your ride nine feet in the air and go with 24's. That'd be fly.
