Does anyone know about replacement shocks for the R8? Called dealer and they want to charge me about $200 each... ooouch! Yahooed for replacements and no luck. I'm just searching for the right rear shock. Thanks anyone for your support!!!!

Figure $100 for the part, another $100 for labor. That's how they're arriving at $200 I guess.

if you are paying the labor, consider spending a little extra on an upgrade. A set of Koni's will run you about $650 shipped, Tokico D-spec around $600 shipped. Even on stock springs, they offer a huge improvement in handling, and you stay in SCCA stock class if that matters to you.
onlinemazdaparts has the stock shock for $108.29: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...layCatalogid=0
Further research at the Rosenthal Mazda site shows the QSEA-28-700 Part Number to be that of the Mazdaspeed replacement shock, yet the Trussville Mazda site mentions nothing of it being an MS part

The coilovers are much more expensive.

Either way, the price quote he's getting is way too high.
