I'd just like to know what percentage tint you guys are running? I'm thinking about going for 40% but I know it looks hotter on my WWP to go darker but I don't want to wrestle with the cops about it. If you guys have pictures with percentages I'd appreciate it!

 

40% is actually pretty light.. If you're worried about being legal, I would not go darker than 20%. I actually have 5% wrapped all the around. But I drive with the windows down a lot, so you really can't tell up front. In the back, you couldn't see anything back there if you tried.

The only thing that sucks for me, is when I need to reverse while it's raining...

haha that would look sick. Probably won't be able to see out of it at night. I know people do double limo but that's also too dark

 

I have 5% back/sides and 35% doors on my Sunfire... I can see out just fine, but I'll do 20% all around on my 8 to be all even and close enough to legal.

 

I have 25% tint and i've never had a problem with it. If you want to be safe go with 30-35%

 

15% and have yet to get a ticket or pulled over for it, depending on where you are backing up at night might get just a little hard to see sometimes.

 

I orignally had 35% tint all the way around, but then I had my tint guy add a layer of 20% on top of that, so I'm not reading close to 6% all the way around... I also don't DD my car so hopefully I won't have any run ins with the cops. ha.

 

20% all around (except windshield). I think 20 is the best option. You can still see out fine (have to strain a little at night sometimes, and backing up). But people can't see in.. With a 35% you can easily see into the car.

 

Honestly, if you're too scared to deal with cops, don't get tints at all. In my opinion, I don't think it's worth paying for 35% (legal in MD) tints. I got 15%. But if I had to do it again, I'd get 5% or 10%.

i have 35% and it looks nice.. during the daytime you can see in easily esp. with the sunlight but at night it looks nice and you cant really see in.. i havnt had any problems with the cops yet either and when my brother got pulled over when he had my car the cop didnt say anything about the tints so its pretty safe.. check my pic threads to see how it looks..

 

I have 35% and this it looks great. Any darker and it can be hard to see out at night. Also, I live in Cali where ANY tint is illegal. I've yet to get a ticket for it though. 3+ years....

You should never take chances and assume you can see....I was always very careful... But I used to own a Black Eclipse that was ALL Blacked Out... I had 20% and then put 5% on top. I could be at a light (day or night) and stick my tongue out at ppl and they would be looking right at me and not have a clue!! It was funny! During the day I could just look right at the sun and not even squint.... It was great! I plan on doing the same thing with the "8".. I just have to find the person that will do...Most places won't.... Back then I went to someone's private home to get it done....

I find that with 20% you really can't see into the car unless you're in direct sunlight.. The windshield is fairly small so not a whole light gets in the car to begin with..

 

Did you guys all tint your sunroof too? I'm torn if I should or not.

On my last car I had 20% all around and if I saw a cop in the rear view I would just slide back my sunroof shade and it would let day light or street lamp light illuminate my interior making my tint look less dark.

I'll stick with 35% or 40% as this is a daily driver and I often drive at night. I only really want to reduce the amount of affect the sun has on the interior so that our weak A/C can do a better job in the summer. As for 5%, I'm not having car sex in the 8 anyhow, the middle hump is a bitch and I'm too fat to kneel in a footwell...

 

^ 20 is sufficient for that purpose. true, there's not much room though..

 

i was a lil skeptic about going 5% but now that i have it i want it darker!, i like how no one can see me and around were i live the cops dont really care to much, the only thing is you have to be careful and get used to driving at night

 

i got 20% on my WWP , looks pretty good but the only problem i have is with the cops because it attracts 'em like crazy since the white paint job reallllly ACCENTUATES the BLACK TINTS.... u know what i mean~?

 

or if u want'em realll dark, jus go for the "LIMO TINTS".

As a matter of fact I did most of my driving at night, since I worked during the day.... If I couldn't see well, I would put my windows down... That's why I never took a chance or assumed anything... I gladly put my window down to have more visibility if needed...

 

I also have %5 all around. Have not been hastled yet in Pensacola NW FL, although I was told I would. I also had same tint on my Acura RSX I bought new on 05 so it's been about 3 yrs now with no troubles from the law.
