Talking Fun Day In My 8 Tomorrow

Well this kinda started last week when I was riding with my dad in my 8 we were talking about how good the car is at turns and how it sticks to the road great and how you really dont need the brake for turns, so he wanted to prove this fact to him self once more, when we went to turn, lets just say we were going a little to fast, we drifted around the turn. That was my first semi-drift and we both liked it, so he was talking about this HUGE parking lot he knows of that is used for parking Blimps for some sort of thing. But it is also used for auto cross and drift racing, and he tells me hardly anybody is ever there.

So hopefully tomorrow, we are just gonna have some fun drifing the 8 around the parking lot, and with it suppost to rain a little tomorrow afternoon it will be perfect conditions for drifting so I really cant wait to go.

Ill update this thread tomorrow and tell yall how it went.

Do you know how to drift? Or will you just be doing donughts in a parking lot? You need to learn how to hold a nice drift without spinning out. Make sure you turn off DSC and TC. I go drifting every chance i get when it rains out, you will have a blast.

Hell yeah, that will be a fun day. Everyone should have a nice big safe place to learn more about the limits of their 8. I wish I was going.

Patrick just because you drifted off the side of the road into a bank does not mean everybody will.

turn DSC and TC off, hold 7 seconds to bug the system.

get to about 15 mpg, pop clutch and careful about the rev, learn to do semi donuts/drift 1st, then pick up speed and try to do the down shift engine breaking enduced drift, thorttle control is key, i hope y'all have tires to burn.

finally, extended drifting will overheat our car, unless ur oil cooler is upgraded.

DSC saves lives.

if you value yours, you'd turn it on when not on a closed course.

Drifting Update

Yea, im mad, I didnt get to go today, I had to much to do.

But hopefully if all goes well I can go tomorrow.. I was really looking forward to it today though, oh well, mabye it will get me through tomorrow.

Oh yea, I cant turn DSC off, I dont have the GT package, I bought my 8 used (first car, lucky huh?) But hey, it looks and drives like new, and its an `06. But for the price I just couldnt pass it up, because I have always loved the RX8 from the first time ive saw one.

But even though it may not drift how I hope, It should still be some fun, but with that said, im always having fun when im in my 8
