Hello everyone. I finally got around to smoking my lights. Overall I think they came out pretty good and you can still see the lights fine. Tell me what ya think?

 

I also did my brothers mustang and my girlfriends Equinox. Here's the stang.


I didn't get a pic of the Equinox because it was too dark last night. Black on black.

 

looks good - might be a little too dark, but that might just be the picture quality/light. what did you use to do them?

 

It looks pretty good. I like the tail lights how they are. But the smoked tail lights are pretty sweet as well.

 

I personally think smoked heads/tails on white 8's looks sexy. I might be biased.

 

Wow!! thats the nicest RX-8s I seen! very smooth and the tinited windows with the smoked tail lights look great!!

 

Thats a sweet pic man. Car is sexy. I'm a bit biased to white/black combo myself. Reminds me of my 8....

Smoked tails look great on most cars in my opinion.

 

That looks great. I'm personally not a very big fan of heavily smoked tails, if that were the direction I were to go, I would do a light-medium smoke. But yours looks absolutely great, nice job.

 

White and black combo is a timeless color scheme. once done tastefully it looks mint.

 

yeah... worm's car has always been my favorite... except maybe the hiros..

 

What did you use to spray them with what? and How did you go about doing it? I am looking towards going that same route, so any information would be greatly appreciated

 

those pics are too small and too dark. looks a little too dark for my taste but i'm glad you like them.

 

I know, they're cheap TE37's basically. I'd like to get some much lighter rims, but that will be after FI.


My passenger side window is currently untinted, some ******* broke it out to steal ****.

The combination of smoked tails on white looks sweet. Almost as good as it does on black. Nice work guys.

how did you tint your lights? film or paint?

 

^^Swap me your trunk with wing for mine with no wing. Just needs repained to match the car. Paint is cheaper then paint and body work! LOL

 

I'd like to see your insurance reaction when you get rear ended by the guy who couldn't see your tail lights.

 

i'd only swap trunks with another VR. sorry.

 

Thankfully in my state they are still legal. If you can't see a bright *** light behind 20% tint then you should not be driving, or at least open your eyes.

One of my absolute worst pet peeves is people who have brake lights out. When I first did this I made sure the light was easily still visible during the day.

i think paul_mnly's lights are too dark. i like smoke over black out.

w0rm's smoke film is very nice. i went with a lighter film and like it as well.

 

These pics do not do them any justice. You can still see the brakes and turn signals from 500 feet so they are still legal. Up close I can still see the bulbs inside. Worm's pics came out better. I used the VHT Nite Shades. In person they look like Worm's.
